Evangelicals and
Environmental Issues
Consider you’re a United States Senator from Kansas and there is
an
upcoming vote in the Senate on whether or not the government
should
pursue a more rigorous course of action on global warming.
Voting
for the bill will increase government subsidies on
energy-efficient
products, thereby lowering the cost to consumers to purchase the
products which are environmentally friendly yet currently more
expensive (i.e. Toyota Camry Hybrid, EG light bulb, etc.)
You want to vote according to your constituents, who are almost
entirely evangelical, but you recently read a newspaper with the
headline “Evangelical Christians split over Global Warming.”
Explain the two evangelical points of view and conclude how you
would
vote and why..
